For me, the build up to winter is always welcome. Watching the leaves change colors, squirrels scrambling to hide their surplus and eventually that first snow that usually turns the landscape into a winter wonderland. Being on break gives me the chance to enjoy all that winter in Chicago has to offer, but after three months of facing ear-numbing wind, scraping ice, shoveling snow, walking briskly to my car and suffering in arid classrooms, I’m at my wits’ end.
