The SIU baseball team faced off against the University of Illinois at Rent One Park in Marion Wednesday. What sport would you like to see played at Rent One Park?
Luke McCormick
I want to see some Wiffle ball. Well, I would rather play the game not just see it. We could bring in the fences a few hundred feet, put up some orange construction fence because there is no other way I’m going deep there.

This is no joke… I was going to say Wiffle ball. But in the spirit of Blog Wars and competition, I’m going to say that I want to see the international cricket championships. Nobody would know exactly what was going on because, let’s be honest, nobody in Marion or southern Illinois really knows how to play cricket. So it would be a good learning opportunity for all involved. And I’ve seen some of these cricket games on ESPN and such… they are intense, fast paced, explosive and confusing. So come on, Marion sports commission, let’s get on the fast track for finalist city for the international cricket championships. Forget the Olympics… they are overrated.

I would like to see Cubs-Cardinals-White Sox round-robin tournament at Rent One, in an effort to please Cubs, Sox and Cards fans in the region. Winner takes all bragging rights and one large double-decker pepperoni pizza from Walt's Pizza in Marion. It’s one of the best pizzas I've ever had in southern Illinois.
Sean McGahan
After the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field, I’ve got an appetite for some ice hockey action. The Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues (both NHL playoff teams this season) should face off for split loyalties of the area. It would be a great way to generate some hockey love in the area and it’d be great to watch the players slip and slide in the puddles created by the southern Illinois heat.
