The sisters Quin can sure write a hook.

Whether it be bouncy new wave, pop-punk or straight ahead indie-pop these twins' ability to get feet moving seems like second nature now.

The duo has been inching closer to a nearly straight up dance record over its past two releases and has created a great one here. Even when the guitars are jagged or tempos get simmered, the backbeat is always at a heavy, get the body moving thump.

It is a mystery as to why the duo does not get the same indie rock world acclaim as contemporaries doing similar things musically. Perhaps having two women fronting a rock band is a hindrance in this sense, which is a shame. This new record is one of the year's most cohesive, rewarding and deserving of repeat listens outings.

In a right musical landscape the Quins would be burning up charts and tearing up the stage on SNL. This should and just might be the album to get them there.
