Genna Ord tells of her experiences climbing mountains in Nevada over spring break in "Rock stars of Las Vegas." What piece of geography or structure would you most like to climb?

Genna Ord
If given the choice to climb anything I wanted, I would forsake the obvious—mountains like Everest and the Eiger, buildings like the Sears or Eiffel towers— and veer toward building structures that are more…unique.
While hanging out in modern art parks in cities like St. Louis would provide plenty of opportunities (providing no security was watching), I think I’d settle for either the Longaberger Basket Company headquarters in Newark, Ohio, or the Kansas City Public Library in Missouri.
I don’t know how challenging or rewarding the climbs would be, but I can only imagine the photo ops and personal satisfaction gained from climbing a giant basket or 20-foot copy of A Tale of Two Cities would be worth it.

If I had the choice, I would have to pick something awesome.  None of the cliché buildings or geography that everybody else would pick.  I would climb Yao Ming, the 7-foot center for the Houston Rockets.  The thought of climbing the human tower would just be awesome, and I have always wished that I could be that tall.  Besides, I’m sure the view from up top would be incredible.

I would climb the moon.

I would climb the Statue of Liberty, and when a ship of immigrants approached, I would yell like Bart from “The Simpsons,” “Country’s full!”
