The Undergraduate Student Government candidates are using Facebook groups to spread the word about their campaigns. What is the best Facebook group?

I’d have to say the best Facebook group is either “I Don’t Care How Comfortable Crocs Are, You Look Like a Dumbass,” “I was doing homework, then I ended up on Facebook” or “I wish my homework was asexual so it would do itself.” I never really understood why crocs are even a fad. I mean, yes, they’re comfortable, but I think they look stupid. I think the last two groups speak for themselves. Facebook easily distracts me, even when I’m not doing homework. And because of that, I wish my homework would do itself so I don’t have to worry about it when Facebook distracts me.

You know, I don’t really belong to very many Facebook groups. I have more of an appreciation for MySpace, because I like the layout and I’m better able to keep up with music from there. The best Facebook group I’m in is “The Unofficial, Semi-Regular But No Obligation, Recreational Bowling Group!” There should really be a Carbondale chapter, but I don’t feel obligated to start it.

I'm a big fan of the group "Motivational Posters...They motivate me!" Yes, it’s an incredibly old Internet meme, but it still makes me laugh to peruse all the images of fail, win and bizarreness.

The best Facebook group is without a doubt “The Friends, Fans and Associates of Luis Medina.” It is a place where my friends, fans and associates can come together and talk about how great I am. Or how terrible of a person I am. Either way, I suggest you come join my group that I haven't checked out since my freshman year.

I think of the hundreds of groups I have been invited to join since I became part of Facebook, two stick out the most. The first one is, "I believe in secret hours." The group, created by one of my very best friends, is for people who believe that in the wee hours of the morning you are allowed to say everything you keep a secret during the day. It's a beautiful thing. The second group is, "Yes, I work at Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon and I'd love to get you a water with lemon." Hilarious. It might sound a little mean, or as though it's just a bunch of kids being jerks to the people who come in to eat and help them pay for college through tips, but I think anyone who has ever been a server (and I was, at Lone Star, for three years) knows the feeling of, "of course you want extra lemon and sugar to make your own lemonade."
