Donna Cavness moved back to Wolf Lake from Alabama eight years ago and bought the Duck Inn, a small bar in the town. “It was sitting here empty, and local people didn’t have any place to go, so I jumped into it,” Cavness said. The outside of the property appears more like a farm as it is home to a potbellied pig and more than 100 farm birds: chickens, turkeys, roosters and guineas, all of which are treated as pets by Cavness. “A lot of people come down here just to see the farm. They’re amazed by how these birds come up and just flog you,” Cavness said. Suzanne Caraker ~ Daily Egyptian
