Daily Egyptian Advertising Policies
All advertising submitted to the Daily Egyptian is subject to approval and may be rejected, revised, or cancelled at anytime.
Snow days or other emergencies.
-If an issue of the Daily Egyptian is being printed or distributed when Southern Illinois University cancels classes, The Daily Egyptian will distribute newspapers in as timely manner as possible and will make efforts to distribute as many copies as possible. No adjustments will be made.
-If Southern Illinois University cancels classes before the Daily Egyptian is printed or distributed, the Daily Egyptian will make every effort to contact advertisers and will schedule advertisements in the next available publication.
If any copy reached the Daily Egyptian after deadline, and the advertising manager agrees to print late copy, the advertiser waives the right to receive a proof.
Color requests cannot be guaranteed.
There is a 25% placement fee available.
The Daily Egyptian shall not be liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not lessen the value of the advertisement.
The Daily Egyptian is only liable for the first insertion of an advertisement containing an error on the part of the Daily Egyptian.
The Daily Egyptian will not be responsible for errors in advertisements provided by the advertiser.
Advertisements that are requested by the advertiser to be inserted upside down or sideways will be charged twice the current open rate and must include a disclaimer.
The advertiser, and if applicable, the advertising agency, assume liability for all content (including text and illustration text). The advertiser, and if applicable, the advertising agency, also assume responsibility for any claims made against the Daily Egyptian arising from publication of the advertisement. Submitting an advertising order to the Daily Egyptian signifies an agreement of this policy.
Payment for all advertising is required in advance of the advertisement’s run date unless the advertiser has established a credit account.
Payment in advance is required for all political advertisements.
The Daily Egyptian reserves the right to insert in any political, partisan or issue-based advertisement the words “Paid Advertisement”.
The advertiser is responsible for obtaining photo releases from persons whose pictures appear in advertisements.
All scheduled advertising cancelled after the day of reservation is subject to a charge equal to the cost of the advertisement.
The Daily Egyptian reserves the right to sell promotional advertising packages at special rates.
The Daily Egyptian reserves the right to revise its advertising rates and conditions set forth on its rate card upon thirty (30) days written notice.
A service charge of $25 will be added to the advertisers account for every check returned to the Daily Egyptian unpaid by the advertiser’s bank.
The Daily Egyptian is not responsible for lost or stolen artwork.
